Variables
Red-naped Sapsucker
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 10%
ponderosa pine forest and more than half their land in public
ownership. Only somewhat less likely in hexagons with smaller
amounts of ponderosa pine forest but with stream density more than 98
stream miles per sq. mi. Among hexagons without ponderosa pine
forest, it occurred mostly if topography is varied. The logistic
regression analysis showed positive or negative association with
ponderosa pine forest, elevation (hex. avg.), stream density, June
minimum temperature (hex. min.), topographic variation, July
minimum temperature (hex. min.), and-to a lesser degree-road
density.
